All this month, we had lists upon lists... install this, buy that, repair those things... all getting ready for the team from City Light that would be coming, the VBS planned in a nearby village, our church's 10-year anniversary celebration, and Night of the Stars. Our living room was filled with boxes from Amazon. Thank you to everyone who donated something from the Night of the Stars wishlist. Everything was used and well appreciated.
VBS
With 15 of us from Calvary Motul and 9 from the City Light mission team, we loaded up in vans and cars along with all of the gear for our 1-day Superhero VBS at San Pedro Cámara. For the first time ever, we would be hosting an outreach event at a public school! This was an incredible door that God had opened! We got there early to set up and decorate the outdoor space we had. School teachers and administration were there, and then came the kids. They were so excited! They all walked over from their class with their own chair to be able to sit on for the VBS program. We danced, we played games, we made superhero capes, shields, and masks. We heard the story of the boy who shared his lunch with Jesus and how it was multiplied to feed over 5,000 people. We then shared lunch with everyone who came - teachers, kids, and a lot of moms. We ate with them and loved on them. Everything was well-received, and we have been invited back to start a women's Bible study and to give English classes. Please pray that God would send us the laborers to help us with this new ministry!
NIGHT OF THE STARS
Words cannot describe this night. Someone asked me how it went, and I replied, "It was the best event we ever had." After asking why, I answered, "Because they appreciated it so much!" We were expecting over 80 people to come, as they had preregistered. When they arrived dressed in their Sunday best, they were warmly welcomed and escorted down the red carpet to the church's courtyard. There they found a photo backdrop where they could get their picture taken, a popcorn stand, servers offering all kinds of food and desserts from their platters they were carrying, and lots of music and dancing! There was also a special salon in which the girls could get their nails painted! If they continued further, they would enter the superhero room where they could take their photo with a real superhero, play foosball, or get ice cream with as many toppings as they desired! Finally, there was a large room set up with tables and chairs where they could sit with their family, play some table games, and get something to drink. Our 30 volunteers loved, smiled, served, danced, and hugged as they showed the love of Jesus to our special guests. Never before has anyone had a night like this for them.

"Thank you so much for everything, it was a truly amazing night for our little ones and for the whole family."
Â
"Thank you to everyone involved in making last night an unforgettable evening. Our stars 🌟 shine every day at home, but having people like you make them feel special is truly magical for them. Thank you so much!"
"It was so much fun! It was the first time I've had such a great time with so many lovely people. We had a wonderful time. Thank you for the attention you gave us; everyone was very kind, and a big hug to all."

Everyone was out on the dance floor, even the superheroes were out there dancing. And then it started to rain. The light rain turned into hard rain, but everyone left to go inside the sanctuary. God changed our plans, and of course, His idea was better. One by one, we announced their name, told them how special they are to God, and crowned them with a crown or tiara. Their faces lit up, their parents were filled with gratitude and appreciation, and the Lord was glorified.
Â
Partnering with the mission team from City Light to help support us in starting these two brand-new ministries was such a blessing. Every person served with all their heart and gave us such great help. Their love for Jesus was radiant, and their servant's heart was evident. Thank you for joining us. We hope you come back again.

10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Sitting in our living room after one Sunday's service, our leadership stared at a blank whiteboard. "Let's start writing down some names." We didn't want to miss anyone who has ever been part of Calvary Motul, even those who were 10 years ago. We wrote down many names of people who used to come but no longer do, for one reason or another. But on November 15, when we will celebrate the goodness and faithfulness of God throughout these 10 years at Calvary Motul, we want them to know that they are welcome back. So, throughout this month, we have been reaching out to those whose names were written on that whiteboard... some we haven't spoken to or seen in years. We are excited about the impact of God's love through this celebration. Please be in prayer with us for this night.
