HOME AT LAST

welcome home Len's first Sunday back celebrating their pastor's return Happy 15th Birthday, Caleb! birthday dinner celebration in Merida
OOn September 11, Len finally returned home. His goal was to make it back in time for Caleb’s 15th birthday—and he did. Being home for Caleb’s birthday was a huge motivation for him throughout those long weeks away. He was also able to bring his mom and sister, and their dog, back to Motul to live. The church body threw a surprise greeting for him as he first walked back into church on Sunday. After service, it was followed by a great time of fellowship over lunch, in which everyone brought a dish to share. It is so good to have him back home.
Those six weeks away were significant in many ways. It was the longest Len has ever been away from his family and from the church. It was also the longest break from teaching the Bible he has had in 15 years. As much as he knew he needed the time away to care for his family, he deeply missed the people of Calvary, the church family, and being a pastor. Coming home was about more than simply returning to Motul—it was returning to the people and ministry that God has entrusted to him and that he loves so much.

With the new school year beginning, Noah started teaching English classes again in the village of San Pedro Cámara. He absolutely loves teaching English and especially enjoys getting to know the kids and watching them learn. Excited to have an English class at their school, the kids have been eager to learn. Just recently, Noah went to the U.S. for an online job because the training for the position requires him to be there. While he is away, Natalie is taking over the English classes in the village. She has really enjoyed the opportunity to invest in the lives of these kids and is loving getting to know them and being part of their lives in a new way.

This season, we are focusing on our family, healing, and preparing for what is next at Calvary. We are grateful to be home, grateful for our church family, and grateful for the opportunities God continues to give us to invest in the lives of others.
We didn't get a chance this summer to post our 12-year video, so better late than never!
