HELP with Night of the Stars

On Saturday, October 25, we are planning to host "Night of the Stars," a Gala Night for those with special needs. A night where we open our doors to every faith, every belief, every age. To do this is going to be difficult, as being a Christian church is a barrier to pass for many because they will be reluctant to attend, thinking the worst of us, that we are looking to convert them the moment they pass the threshold of the doors. Also, culturally, people with special needs are shunned and many times hidden away because many “churches” say that they are that way because of hidden sin. In our city, they are looked upon as the least of these.
So many families hide away because of the burdens they carry and how painful it becomes to hear the same harsh comments over and over. We want to break that cycle. We want to create something special - a night that they and their families are loved and cared for. We desire to share the love that Jesus has for them and for them to know how special they are to Him! And then, we pray and hope, because of the peace and joy that they found in that night, they would seek after and come back to our church that loves them, accepts them, welcomes them, and they would become a part of our Calvary Motul family.
Last year, we took on the construction project of moving the bathrooms downstairs and making them handicap accessible. We still have a few things left on the church property to finish.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
We have created an Amazon List that shows the items we need. We are starting with the items really necessary for this event, such as ramps, handicap bars for the bathroom, and lighting. Later, we hope to add more items that will be more specific to Night of the Stars, like crowns, decorations, etc.
If you would like to help, you can click on the Amazon list and purchase an item, and it will get delivered to us. Some items we need more than one - it is marked that way on the list.
