As we draw closer to celebrating 10 years of ministry here at Calvary Motul,
we are so grateful for how God continues to lead and open doors. This past month
has been especially exciting as God has directed us into two new areas of focus:
Special Needs Ministry and Village Ministry.

Village Ministry
After much prayer, we had an opportunity to meet with teachers and city leadership in a small village nearby. During this meeting, we shared our heart for the community and proposed bringing a Vacation Bible School program to the village children. Our plan is to host a joyful time of games, food, arts and crafts, all centered on the theme of Superheroes—with a powerful focus on Jesus as the ultimate Superhero.
We are thankful to report that the teachers and city leaders gave us permission to move forward! This is a wonderful answer to prayer and a sign of God’s favor. We are excited to see how He will use this open door to bless the children and their families. We look forward to partnering more in this little village of 170 people.
Special Needs Ministry
This month, we also experienced a breakthrough in the area of Special Needs Ministry. We had the privilege of meeting with both the daytime and nighttime directors at a local special needs school. Just securing these meetings was itself an answer to prayer, as we specifically asked God to open the right doors. The directors received the vision of Night of the Stars warmly and invited us back to personally connect with the students and their families. We see this as a tremendous opportunity and a direct confirmation of God’s leading.
I also want to take a moment and say thank you so much to everyone who has prayed and helped financially. A night like this is a huge opportunity for ministry, building bridges, and tearing down stigmas. But nights like this are costly, and praise God He put the needs on your hearts and you responded. This event is funded, and we are securing the last bits to bless some very special people.
Celebrating Culture at Calvary Motul
At Calvary Motul, we remain committed to celebrating the beautiful culture and traditions of the Yucatán. In September, we joined in the festivities of Mexico’s Independence Day with our church family. It was a wonderful time of fellowship, joy, and honoring both God and the heritage of this land. This really was a special night. The church celebrated, and our family got to enjoy the festivities of Mexico’s day of Independence. We felt blessed to join our adopted Yucatecan church family.
As we reflect on these new beginnings and the blessings of the past month, our hearts are full of gratitude. We ask for your continued prayers as we prepare for the upcoming village VBS program, deepen our connection with the special needs community, and look forward to celebrating a decade of ministry. We are in Go mode from now till the beginning of the year.
