EASTER SERVICE

Easter is one of our favorite church services of the year. We had the opportunity to rent a facility that we have been wanting for years to host the Easter service at. It has a pool for baptisms and ample space to have both the church service and then more space to set up tables to eat at afterwards. On Saturday night, after the cafe closed, there were a few who helped bring everything to the front room of the church property that we would need for the Easter service the next day - chairs, tables, sound equipment, and even down to soap and toilet paper for the bathrooms. Then, early Sunday morning, it was such a blessing to see so many from the church body come out to help bring everything over and set up, as service was scheduled to start at 10:00 am. Everyone was excited. This year, we had close to 100 people attend.
The service started with the kids' worship team leading "Alaba" in the style of dance for the younger kids. Then the youth group went up front with one of their youth leaders to do movements to a praise song they had picked out and made hand motions to. After the adult worship team led everyone in a time of worship, Len shared the message. When the service ended, we all headed over to the pool for the time of baptism. We had 2 youth and 3 adults this year who got baptized, one of them deciding at that moment that he wanted to get baptized in his Sunday clothes! It was wonderful to see each of them take that next step in their walk with Christ.
For the rest of the time, we ate and fellowshipped. Everyone had brought a food dish to share, and so we had plenty to eat. Many of the kids played in the pool, and this year we had a volleyball net, so many of the youth enjoyed that. The last people left that day around 4:30 pm. It was a great day!
