CCFTL YOUTH MISSION TEAM

This month, we had a lot of planning before the CCFTL Youth team came.  The team of 13 came for four full days of ministry.  We returned to minister in the village of San Pedro Cámara.  We hosted a 2-day VBS at the elementary public school there.  The team prepared songs, activities, games, and teaching.  At the end, we fed them lunch, and on the second day, we had two piñatas that the kids took turns taking a swing at.  Praise God for this open door we have in this village!

Another ministry outreach we had was hosting two nights of youth nights.  These events were open to the public, and we saw many new faces come onto the church property, as well as the youth from our church.  Each night was full of games of competition among 4 teams sandwiched with a Jesus message and some food.  Every youth on the winning team each night won a prize.  They had a blast and pray that God's Word will continue to reach their hearts.

The team helped out in a deep cleaning of the church property, assisted us in hosting a volunteer appreciation night with ice cream and a fun game of Price is Right with prizes, and ate dinner in the homes of some of the families that go to our church.  The time was short, but it was a great time, and we got to do a lot of ministry.  And this year, it didn't rain!!!

The school schedule changed this year and was a bit shorter than usual, but before it ended, Noah and Darla were able to go to San Pedro Cámara two times to give English classes.  Most schools in the bigger cities offer English classes in school (not just high school), but because San Pedro Cámara is such a small town, they don't have an English teacher.  Noah will be returning to teach weekly when school starts back up after the summer break.  They also invited our family to attend their preschool graduation ceremony.  It was such an honor to celebrate with them.  After the graduation, we were invited, along with the teachers, to go to four of the graduates' homes to eat dinner with them.  They all were so very welcoming and sweet to us, but after the 3rd house, we couldn't eat anymore!
