BOOKS OF THE BIBLE

Back in January, during a youth night, there was a great moment of opening up the Bible together and looking up different passages. It became a reminder of how valuable it is to feel confident navigating Scripture and knowing where to find things. With that in mind, a simple challenge was introduced: learning the books of the Bible in order. It’s something that can stick for a lifetime and help build confidence when spending time in God’s Word.  To make it fun and engaging, there was also a small twist—a 500 peso prize for anyone who could recite the books of the Bible in order faster than Natalie. The goal was simply to encourage familiarity with Scripture and to help make time in the Bible feel more approachable and enjoyable.

After a few weeks, Natalie returned to a youth night to hear all of them recite them in order.  Unfortunately for them, none of them received the cash prize as she recited them faster than all of them.  But she was challenged to learn them in Spanish so the competition would be even more fair... so, she gave the youth a second chance and told them to come back in a week, and we would compete again, but this time she would say them in Spanish.  Many kids learned them well, which was the entire point of this competition.  We hope that they, too, will remember them for the rest of their lives as Natalie does.  One youth did recite them in just 24 seconds, beating Natalie's record of 31 seconds.  He walked away that night with 500 pesos in his pocket.

Len and the boys took a trip to spend time with Len's family for a little bit. They needed some help with some projects and repairs around the property.  As Len (and sometimes accompanied by Noah) was able to help them with a lot, they were also able to have some good family time. Natalie stayed back, maintaining things here in Motul while they were away.

As Easter is approaching fast, we have been announcing in church for many weeks about the opportunity to be baptized at the Easter service.  For many weeks, we had no response and had thought that maybe no one would be baptized this time.  But then, just recently, we had a few come and share with us that they want to be baptized.  As this is a big decision for each of them, please pray that the Lord would protect them in the upcoming days leading to their baptism.  On the day of Easter, following the service, we will baptize those who have made that decision.
