AN EASTER TO REMEMBER

All of the women from women's night were excited to see the movie "The Last Supper" by The Chosen.  It was playing in theaters in Merida, but our only dilemma was getting all of us there.  Natalie knew that a few of the women in the church knew how to drive, but when she started to organize a carpool, she found out that none of them felt comfortable driving outside of our little city of Motul.  But then God opened a door.  One of the ladies in our church works for the city and said she could present the need for transportation and see if they would accept our request.  Not only did God provide, but at no cost!  And then there was another lady in our group who found coupons for the movie - we paid only 2 dollars per movie ticket!  We had a great time being able to go out and share in this activity together.

With many tears, it was time to let our sweet ole girl go.  Roxy, our miniature pinscher, had been with us for almost 18 years, as we got her when she was a puppy before the boys were even born.  She was such a sweet dog and had lived her life to the fullest, even to the very last moment, as she was licking peanut butter off a plate before her last breath.  She will truly be missed.

We were able to get away for one night in Merida to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary.  Twenty-four hours go by fast!  We had a lovely time unplugging from everything else and enjoying each other, just the two of us.  We wish we could do this more often.

This year's Easter service was a big one!  Not only did we have the biggest RSVP of people attending, but we had 10 people saying they wanted to be baptized!  We started setting up early Sunday morning at a facility we rented.  It was big enough under the roof to have the church service, and then it also had a pool for the baptism.  We brought all of our chairs, sound equipment and instruments, tables, and then the body brought food to share.  It was packed full!  Our attendance was 100 people!  We celebrated our risen Savior with a time of worship and teaching, and then gathered around the pool to witness 5 youth and 5 adults get baptized, some of them being so special to us as we have seen them grow in the Lord for so many years.  It was an Easter to remember.

Noah will be graduating in May, so we are flying in for his ceremony at Abeka in Pensacola. Our trip is short, but we do have a couple of church stops scheduled if you are nearby and want to come say hello. We will be at Calvary Chapel Villages for their church service on May 11th and then at City Light Church in Port Orange on May 18th.
