10 YEARS

We started this month by praying for our new youth leaders who will be taking over and leading the youth ministry.  We are excited about this change as the Lord has led us.  Their first youth night, "Jesus, Fun, and Pizza," was just that, plus some socks!  All of the youth wore crazy socks and had a fun race to see how many they could put on.  Many youth came out for the first time!

After invitations went out to both the current church body and those who had attended in the past, Calvary Motul celebrated its 10-year anniversary. We had close to 100 people come out, many from the present, some from the past.  It was so good to see them again and reconnect.  There was a large banner with each of the 10 years posted.  Each person wrote down their name and placed it next to the year they started attending Calvary Motul.  The night started with some praise worship, and then we played a trivia game with questions from the history of Calvary Motul.  The first 5 years in about 10 minutes was the first of the two videos.  There were highlights of each year shown from photos and videos that were captured.  Then we had a time of open mic where anyone could come share a personal story of a time that had happened at Calvary.  Then we closed the service by watching highlights from the last 5 years.  Afterwards, there was dessert and drinks with tables and chairs where everyone could sit down and have a great end of the night in fellowship.  To see all of the people, to watch all of the memories, and be reminded of what the Lord has done, it brought tears to our eyes.

The video is available on YouTube if you would like to see it.  Originally, Natalie tried to get one year down to one minute, but too much would be lost.  So, it is just a little bit longer so we could include more of the memories.

Our famous cookie night for the women in the church took place with a lot of competition!  This year was the first time for many of the ladies.  It is always such a fun time with the women as we decorate Christmas cookies and sit and talk with one another.

A full-circle moment for Natalie was when she led children's worship with this boy this month. He recently joined the youth worship team that helps with the children's worship. He has been attending Calvary Motul for 10 years and began when he was just a baby. One of the songs he chose to do this day was caught on camera 10 years ago during Sunday school when he was just in diapers. And now he is leading worship! May the Lord use him for His glory!
